How to find bids on GeM (bidplus.gem.gov.in): search, filters, pages

Every ongoing GeM bid is listed on bidplus.gem.gov.in, and anyone can search the list without logging in. This guide explains how its search box, filters, sort order, pages and Advance Search behave, so you miss fewer of the bids you can supply.

Where GeM lists its bids

The bid list is at bidplus.gem.gov.in/all-bids (on GeM's menu: Bids, then List of Bids). It opens on "Ongoing Bids/RA", ten bids a page, soonest deadline first, under a line such as "Showing 1 - 10 records of N records".

Each card shows the bid number, Items, Quantity, Department Name And Address, Start Date and End Date. The bid number opens the bid document, the PDF with the full terms. Item names over 30 characters end in "..."; hover over them to read the rest. A reverse auction (RA) card shows its parent bid number first, and "View Corrigendum/Representation" shows changes the buyer has published.

How the search box works

Type in the "Enter Keyword" box and pick the search type beside it. GeM's help text (the i icon) says the search covers Bid Number, Department Name, Ministry Name, Items, BOQ Title, Category Name and Consignee Location. The bid PDF is not on that list, so a word found only in the specification will not find the bid.

The box needs at least 3 characters and rejects symbols such as @, # and ?. For energy bids, see keywords that work for solar and battery bids.

Filters

The Filters panel on the left narrows the list, and "Reset" clears it.

Sort order and pages

"Sort by" offers Bid Start Date and Bid End Date, each Latest First or Oldest First. The default, Bid End Date: Oldest First, puts the nearest deadline on top; Bid Start Date: Latest First shows what was published since your last visit.

Page numbers sit under the cards; if a broad word returns many pages, add a filter instead of paging through.

Advance Search

The "Advance Search" link above the list opens "Advanced search for Ongoing Bids", with four tabs:

Picking a category is the most precise search, since you choose GeM's exact category name.

A routine that misses fewer bids

  1. Daily: sort by Bid Start Date: Latest First and search each of your words separately.
  2. Weekly: run Advance Search for your main categories, and by consignee state if you serve only some states.
  3. Before bidding: read the key fields of the bid document and check "View Corrigendum/Representation".

Keep your GeM catalogue complete too: GeM's General Terms and Conditions say bid invitations go to registered sellers with goods or services listed in that category.

Doing this faster with Tender Radar

Tender Radar is a Chrome extension that highlights bid cards matching your keywords on the GeM page you are viewing. Its "Scan all of GeM" button runs GeM's own search for each keyword over all ongoing bids and lists each match once, soonest end date first. For a keyword of several words it searches the rarest word and keeps only bids whose items or department contain the whole phrase. It is free during its beta.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to log in to GeM to see bids?

No. The bid list at bidplus.gem.gov.in/all-bids and the bid documents are public. You need a registered seller account only to submit a bid.

Why does "solar inverter" return the same bids as "solar"?

With the default Contains option, GeM's search in effect uses only the first word, so extra words do not narrow the results. Search one specific word, or pick the category in Advance Search.

Why is a bid published a few minutes ago missing from the results?

GeM says newly published or changed bids can take up to 15 minutes to show up in search results. Search again a little later.
